Returning from the success of ‘Elevator’, Hot Hot Heat are finding their ways into our heads once again. Many are already humming the chorus of ‘Let Me In’, wherever they are. This catchy factor seems to work in the band's favour. It did in previous years, so why bother changing things? However in their return, they have changed their sound, and it’s easy to pick up on. Aiming for a more epic feel, Killers comparisons will be talked about from the mouths of the critics and fans. The hiring of new guitarist Luke Paquin could be the reason for this, but it’s more likely that the band is going with the times. They’ve pulled it off – obviously. You hear bells, you hear satisfying squirms from Steve Bays’ vocals, the chorus is bigger than anything they’ve ever done before. Not quite as fun as usual, but it’s still lovely listen to the Canadian bunch.
