After a rather long wait Jamie XX has unveiled his new solo material in the form of 'Sleep Sound' and 'Girl'. Check it out below.

The two tracks which will be released as a double A-side on the Young Turks label will be released 5 May. It is the first new solo productions since 2011 when he released the classic steel drum infused 'Far Nearer' and the Gil Scott-Heron reinterpretation of We're New Here.

As for the track itself it will be very familiar to fans of Jamie's production style and DJ sets. It is a slick production with organic sounding instruments and slightly off-beat loops and melodies that build to a subtley euphoric conclusion. It has a soothing quality akin to the rest of Jamie's work with hushed tones and ryhthms hiding the complexity underneath.
