During his tour of the US last year Beardyman addressed the dance trend currently engulfing America. Claiming "EDM is not a real thing" he then listed it's component parts, a "compound concept comprising dubstep, neuro-step, also electro and many other kinds of dance music".
He then speculated on how it was created, including that it was something Katy Perry "dreamt up when she was masturbating one Tuesday afternoon", conceiving while David Guetta "picked lice out of his armpits" and something unspeakable involving Mariah Carey and a Norwegian fisherman.
As such, when Gigwise recently challenged him to distill his thoughts on the current state of dance, 15 minutes later he came up with 'EDM is still dead'. It also plays into a prominent electronica producer who got in contact with Beardyman only to never return his calls. As the man himself declares "The drop is coming! It always comes! You know what to do!"
Recently his collaborations have included his One Album Per Hour sessions in which a variety of special guests - including Jack Black, Peter Serafinowicz and Tim Minchin - suggest musical tracks and styles for Beardyman to perform.
