It's not often you get a new band who immediately smack you around the ears and demand to be listened to as much as former Alt-J and Wolf Alice tour buddies - but that's exactly what Gengahr do. They've made 2015 a much better place, and we can't wait to see what the future holds.

Their debut album A Dream Outside is a dazzling affair that incorporates highly catchy melodies with breezy, psychedelic guitar lines. With such great taste and melodic intuition showcased on this record we considered they'd be just the guys to write us a playlist and show us what gets them going - with frontman Felix Bushe picking his favourite new tracks.

As is often with a lot of people these days, the availability of music on the internet is nearly unlimited and inevitably influences are as broad as ever, as money is no object in terms of acquiring it. Gengahr epitomise this situation where scenes and distinct tribes appear to have vanished and eclecticism and creativity are more important than what genre you're religious to.

Grimes - 'Kill V. Maim'
"Off the new album Art Angels. I've only listened through a few times as it hasn't been out long but this is a track which jumped out right at me. In a way it's more 'Pop' than her previous releases bit at the same time very weird and wonderful."

 Deerhunter - 'Breaker'
"These guys are one of my all time favourite bands and I've been waiting a long while now for Fading Frontiers to drop. The chorus on this song is superbly written and is Deerhunter at their most melodic and dreamy. 'Desire Lines' was probably my favourite track of the last album and both these songs have3 the rare addition of Lockett Pundt's vocals. His voice blends really well with Cox's and it should happen more often!"

The Weeknd - 'The Hills'
"This is the latest in a run of huge singles by The Weeknd. He confidently walks a tightrope between Usher and Michael Jackson and it makes a serious winning formula. The style and sound of this track is everything that's good in mainstream Pop at the minute and I'm interested to see where he takes us next."

Tamaryn - 'Cranekiss'
"This song completely blew me away the first time I heard it. I love the mix of '90s influences with the great chorus hook. Really gets under my skin.... I can't wait to see her live, hope it doesn't disappoint."

Drake - 'Hotline Bling'
"I was very late to the Drake party. Sort of always assumed it wouldn't be something I was going to be in to but when I heard this track there was something instantly familiar and joyous about it. That's mostly because he sample a track called 'Cha Cha' by D.R.A.M that I had listened to a lot a few months back. That being said Drake does add something effortlessly smooth to the track and this may prove to be my gateway song in to finally appreciating him and his music."
