"It was weird for us, having a year out with throat surgery," While She Sleeps frontman Loz Taylor tells Gigwise of their recent drama. "At the click of a button, people can log on the internet and find their new favourite band if you disappear, so it was really nice to see that people still give about Sleeps."

And give they certainly do - not least because they hit the road with a massive bill that included a joint headline slot with the mighty Cancer Bats. But how did it go?

Loz goes on: "And personally, the new Bats record is fucking awesome, so that's good to hear every night...everyone's just been stoked on both bands."

Liam Cormier of Cancer Bats continues "while wearing a Sleeps shirt, they're singing along to Cancer Bats, or while wearing a Cancer Bats t-shirt, they're singing along to Sleeps," before Loz adds "if they're not singing along, they're punching someone in the face!"

But while there's plenty of common ground, just make sure you don't get the wrong idea about either band.

"The biggest misconception about Cancer Bats is that I'm always wasted, I still feel like that comes up," says Liam. "I had like, 1,000 guys try and buy me beer and stuff last night and I was just like 'woah, I have been straight edge forever', but I give off this gnarly misconception that I'm hammered when we're playing - I don't know why."

And the biggest misconception of While She Sleeps? "Everyone thinks the first lyrics to 'Four Walls' is 'everyone dies when they're dead', which is not true...

Find out what is really is in the video above.

Watch above as the bands talk us though what made them want to 'bro up', the balance of both bands' fans between 'young kids' and 'old gnarly biker dudes', and much more.

While She Sleeps will be appearing at Slam Dunk Festival in Leeds, Hertfordshire and Wolverhampton from 23-25 May, alongside the likes of You Me At Six, Taking Back Sunday, Architects, Don Broco and loads more.
