The National's Matt Berninger + Ramona Falls' Brent Knopf talk + play us through their debut

More about:

We meet El Vy in a dark basement studio of their label 4AD's South London offices. It's a wet and bitter Monday afternoon. One would imagine that meeting the frontman of The National under these circumstances would be nothing but a sombre affair - but in fact, that couldn't be further from the truth.

Joined by friend, collaborator and the other half of El Vy, Sir Brent Knopf of Ramona Falls, you can see how they came together to create one of the most joyful listens of the year.

With Berninger on analysis and Knopf playing around with the piano, we go through each and every track of their immaculate debut album, Return To The Moon. With banter covering Paul McCartney conspiracy theories, the music of Grease, death, family, fatherhood, sex, and every absurdity in between, make no mistake that this is a record like no other. Get in your life.
