South London's Shame were the talk of the town yesterday (4 May) after their rabble-rousing set on the main stage at Liverpool Sound City.
Their combination of anti-austerity ideology and insanely well-crafted guitar tones and Fat White Family and Iggy Pop-influenced dynamism on stage is a winning combination up here in Merseyside.
Getting a rapturous applause with an anti-Tory statement, frontman Charlie Sheen had the socialist Liverpudlian crowd in his palm for the duration of the set.
Gigwise photographer Andy Von Pip was down in the pit to get close to the action and got these incredible photos get our blood pumping just looking at them.
Other Liverpool Sound City highlights include Phobophobes, Shame's fellow Brixton band and forefathers of the scene that they flourished in before becoming a colossal international touring band. Liverpool Sound City continues today. Here's what you shouldn't miss.
