More about: The Lanes
Before you hear them on the radio, telly, Hot New Bands; before they’ve got a manager or an agent; before you see them smashing the main stages, it's more than likely they'll have played or received early support from This Feeling.
In February, TF shared their annual big list of Ones to Watch in the world of indie music in 2022. Every week, you can meet a new artist that made it onto that list...
If you had to put your music in two genres, which would you choose?
Indie and rock.
What kind of stuff can you imagine your music being the soundtrack for?
Early 2000’s indie romcom.
Tell us an older artist and a brand new artist that inspires you.
For the older artist it has to be The Strokes, arguably one of the bigger influences for us as a band. Working Men’s Club are a new band who are particularly exciting and inspiring not just by the frontman's young age but the creativity he brings to the scene.
What's the best part of playing live?
There’s something about playing live which is euphoric and dreamy, it’s like you lose sense of your ‘off-stage self’ and there’s a confident, willing, and energetic version of yourself on stage. If I could bottle up any feeling in the world, playing live would be one of them.
Tell us about your latest release.
‘There’s A Locked Up Safe’ changed the game for us, had a great reception from a lot of important people and opened lots of doors for us as a band. It’s a song that came from the heart so has been really incredible for us to be able to hear audiences singing it back to us.
What have you got coming up?
Our debut tour put on for us by This Feeling where we will be visiting Brighton, Bristol, Cardiff, London and Manchester! With a bit of luck we will have our next single out by then. See you there.
What other bands tipped by This Feeling this year do you like or looking forward to seeing?
06 - Bristol, The Crown
07 - Manchester, Off The Square
21 - London, Water Rats
