More about:

Perhaps one of the key voices of tomorrow comes in the form of Chloe Moriondo. Melding dreamy, sparkling instrumentals with deeply emotive vocals, Chloe captures a coming of age sensation that feels timeless. From her humble beginnings of recording ukulele song covers in her bedroom, to now performing live with a full band, Chloe is constantly evolving—and there’s no telling where she’ll go next.

Chloe’s charm is rooted in that initial sense of intimacy that YouTube allowed them: “it’s helped me be honest in my songwriting” Chloe tells us. “I think having everything sound exactly like it would come out of my mouth has always been really important to me.”

And not only are Chloe’s words authentic, their musical journey is as well. Moving from glitzy bedroom pop to debut album Blood Bunny’s bittersweet indie-rock sheen, Moriondo’s experimental career has mirrored their own coming of age. ”I do feel like my sound kind of captures the changes I’ve been going through as a literal teenage girl.“

Their new Puppy Luv EP feels like an homage to this maturation: “It’s a transitional EP that’s also kind of an amalgamation of my entire music career,” Chloe tells us.  From ‘Sammy’s playful, giddily heartfelt choruses, to the brooding, atmospheric ‘Nice Pup’, Puppy Luv truly does feel like a reflection of Chloe’s career. ‘Werewolf’ in particular is one of the first tracks Chloe ever recorded in an in-person session: “I had, like, long blue hair down to my shoulders when I wrote it for the first time!“

Wherever Chloe goes, it’s going to be authentic. “I never understood what genre is, like what defines a song as a genre?” she admits. “I’ve been experimenting with different sounds, going in a shinier, crunchier ‘hyper-pop’ direction. I’m moving wherever feels the most natural, the most exciting!”
