The second half of 2023 is a busy one. Our calendar is packed full of albums we’re excited for, saving some of the best till the last months of the year. With early album of the year contenders already put in by Blondshell, Baxter Dury and Young Fathers, there are still plenty more potentials to come.

To get you excited for what's to come, here are our most highly anticipated albums for the second half of 2023…

FIZZ - The Secret To Life
Arriving September 15th

With every new tease and track, the debut album from FIZZ is shaping up to be bigger and better than anyone could’ve expected. Made up of dodie, Orla Gartland, Greta Isaac and Martin Luke Brown, the quality was always going to be incredibly high. But from singles like ‘Hell Of A Ride’ and ‘As Good As It Gets’, the debut seems packed full of fun, catharsis and harmonies so high they’ll send your ears to heaven. Sure to cure the end of summer blues, I can’t wait to have it on repeat. - Lucy Harbron

Flamingods - Head of Pomegranate

Arriving October 13th

Coming in October, the psychedelic carnival that is Flamingods will be returning with 'Head of Pomegranate'. An outfit that incorporates sounds from psychedelic-pop, funk, disco, Afrobeat and everything else, the immensely fun Flamingods are as great as they are on record as they are live, and they're one of the best live bands on the planet. Their previous outing 'Levitation' (2019) was my album of the year, so it's fair to say that I'm very excited for this forthcoming title. - Brad Sked

Creeper - Sanguivore

Arriving October 13th

Creeper, writing a concept album about vampires? Dreams really do come true. We didn’t think they could beat the Sex, Death & The Infinite Void saga, but lead single ‘Cry To Heaven’ shows the band diving headfirst into 80s gothic rock in its campiest, most over-the-top form. So dust off your fake fangs and your copy of Interview with the Vampire ahead of Friday 13th October – because Creeper are back. - Vicky Greer

CMAT - Crazymad, For You

Arriving October 13th

October 13th might be the best day of the year. Possibly the best day of my life as we’ll finally be gifted the second album from CMAT. So far the singles have all been song of the year contenders for me, so i already know the album is going to be a strong contender for 2023’s finest. - Lucy Harbron

Bombay Bicycle Club - My Big Day

Arriving October 20th

Nearly 20 years into the game and in that time loveable indie favourites Bombay Bicycle Club have built up a reputation for always delivering with each new album. On their most recent outing (2020 comeback record Everything Else Has Gone Wrong) they showed they very much still had it despite their long hiatus. Now their sixth album is set for release this October and if the excellent lead single and hilariously zany artwork weren't enough to whet the appetite, the album will also feature collaborations with the likes of Damon Albarn, Holly Humberstone and Nilufer Yanya. Bring it on! - Karl Blakesley

Angie McMahon - Light, Dark, Light Again

Arriving October 27th

Her first album since 2019’s Salt, Angie’s sophomore album is shaping up to be a really beautiful one. Singles like ‘Saturn Returning’ and ‘Letting Go’ speak to an album built on gentle affirmation and sweet lyricism - which is exactly what you need as the months get darker. - Lucy Harbron
