More about:

The 1975 have turned around a euphoric new pop song with their latest single. 'If You're Too Shy (Let Me Know)' is a panoramic feel-good tune that explodes influences into one sparkling triumph all about getting naked on the internet.

Ambience sets off this new track nicely: the gentleness of synth and strummed guitar sounding not unlike the opening eponymous track the band feature on every record.

But then: Bryan Adams guitar riffs, Bruce Springsteen sax solos and an overall melody that's a little like KC & The Sunshine Band's 'Give It Up'. It's also similar in style to the 1975's own 'She's American'. Listen and tell us what you hear:

Vulnerable and euphoric, 'If You're Too Shy (Let Me Know)' is testament to the staying power of The 1975. Often referred to as The Best Band In The World, another single arrives and passes without offering evidence to the contrary.

Notes On A Conditional Form has been pushed back for release on 22 May so we passed the time by climbing inside Matty Healey's brain to try and guess what each song on the 22-strong track list might mean. See our predictions here.

Notes On A Conditional Form is released on 22 May 2020 via Dirty Hit.
