The annual unsigned artist competition to earn major prizes and live slots at the Gaymers Camden Crawl in April launches January 19th.
Following unprecedented entries and online participation in 2008, this year’s campaign will emulate the format developed by Gigwise.com over the past three years with even more coveted final prizes to be battled over. Not only will the finalists secure live slots, festival passes and hospitality at the prestigious event, but the winner will additionally earn a day’s recording at a renowned London recording studio, single mastering and manufacturing of 500 7” singles as well as various other prizes to be confirmed and announced on the Indie Idle website over the coming weeks. By day, the Crawl is a sprawling carnival-style arts festival featuring comedy, short film, pop quizzes, bingo, busking, acoustic performances, workshops, spoken word, karaoke, unsigned band competitions, exhibitions, gaming, an outdoor stage with special guests and more… By night, however, the mile-long stretch of pavement becomes an all out live music extravaganza playing host to 150 of the best new talents performing across the area’s infamous venues.
