Madness is overdone but rarely mastered. Often contrived, the world of rock music has seen enough 'edgy' Alice In Wonderland spoofs to last it, well, there's been enough. Luckily London's Shark Dentist have indulged into unfiltered lunacy so you don't have to. Check out the, to be frank, fucked up video for 'I Cut Myself Shaving' below.
Trying to describe Shark Dentist is no easy feat, made difficult by the fact that their press release offers no authentic information, here's an extract: "The band grew up on a shark farm harvesting jelly fish till the tender age of twelve where they parted ways. For the next 6 years, they each encountered many obstacles that simultaneously contributed to the ethic and discipline the band possess today."
"Campbell crossed the Irish Sea and settled in Northern Ireland, inhabiting Ronan Keating’s fish bowl. This is where he was exposed to what would be major musical influences, such as Lamb of Cod, Shrimp Bizkit and Fleetwood Mackerel."
If that doesn't tell you everything you need to know, their sound is a vicious clusterfuck of jarring distortion, monotone post-punk vocals and a video to give your nightmares nightmares. If Robert Crumb's characters came alive in a B-Movie that's what the video for 'I Cut Myself Shaving' would look something like.
