Vanilla Ice comes to the defence of upcoming Adam Sandler comedy Ridiculous Six after a series of reports citing the film as controversial and 'racist' swelled last week.
The Western satire is in its production stages at the moment for Netflix. Last week, a cast of Native American actors reportedly walked off the film set in protest of the script's racist and inaccurate content. As Defamer reported one of the genuine lines of dialogue is "My name not Strawberry Tits. I am Sits-On-Face."
Vanilla Ice who plays the role of Mark Twain backed up the film in an interview with TMZ: "I don't think anybody really had any ill feeling ir any intent or anything. This movie isn't 'Dances With Wolves.' It's a comedy. They're not there to showcase anything about anybody - they're just making a funny movie I think."
The rapper has worked with Sandler before, with a cameo appearance in the 2012 film 'That's My Boy.' He also suggests he can see both sides of the argument as he is part choctaw.
Sandler came to the film's defence last week explaining: "The movie has ridiculous in the title for a reason: because it is ridiculous. It is a broad satire of Western movies and the stereotypes the popularized, featuring a diverse cast that is not only part of - but in on the joke." The reports and leaked scripts beg to differ, you can understand the upset just by naming some of the film's characters such as No Bra and Beaver's Breath.
The Ridiculous Six will premiere on Netflix in 2016.
