Adele's hugely anticipated new album 25 may now not be released until September, according to reports.
In today's edition of The Sun Dan Wootton reports that the wait for the followup to 21 has just got even longer.
According to a music industry source, it appears that the album will arrive four and a half years on from her huge second LP: "The album is currently scheduled for release in September. The most recent plan was for it to hit shops before the summer but that's now been scrapped. Adele's taking her time to make sure the album is perfect and doesn't want to compromise."
This echoes statements made to Music Business Worldwide earlier this year when a source said that "logically, there's now almost no chance" of the album being ready before "the second half of 2015."
Collaborators who have been in the studio with Adele for sessions include Ryan Tedder, Damon Albarn, Phil Collins, James Ford and Paul Epworth.
As previously reported Adele scored the biggest selling artist album of the millennium to date. According to figures for the Official Charts Company, Adele's second album has sold nearly 4,740,000 copies in the UK to date, including spending 23 weeks at No.1.
Emily Eavis also recently denied rumours that Adele would be performing at the festival in Somerset. She explained that even though the Sunday night spot is still currently occupied, we won't be singing along to 'Rolling In The Deep' this year. "I would love Adele. To have Adele would be a complete dream, but she's not going to be here this year." Ever secretive when it comes to rumours, she added, "That's the only denial I will do."
Adele's 21 has now sold over 30 million copies worldwide and spent 23 weeks at the top of the UK charts.
