Phil Rudd has spoken for the first time about his trial in which he has pleaded guilty on drugs and threatening to kill charges.

"I've seen the error of my ways," he told Australia's A Current Affair TV programme. "Onward and upward from here." On his recent decision to plead guilty for drug charges and threatening to kill he said "You make your own mistakes and it was a mistake of the charges. We all make mistakes."

Unbelievably enough Rudd also expressed his desire to be back on tour with the band. "I'm fit and ready to go," he said. When asked about whether he wished he was on AC/DC's world tour rather than replacement drummer Chris Slade replied "Oh, yeah. I'm not the only one either."

Rudd believes it is the decision of Angus Young whether or not he would return to the group. "We all know [the other band members] don't make a difference," he said. "That's how it is." Rudd said he'd tried to get in contact with his former bandmates. "They haven't called me," he said. "I wrote them a letter and I tried to get in touch with Angus and no contact."

Young delivered the same statement to the programme that he had issued previously. "Phil created his own situation," he explained. "It's a hard thing to say about the guy. He's a great drummer, and he's done a lot of stuff for us. But he seems to have let himself go. He's not the Phil we've known in the past."

As previously reported, Rudd was arrested in November and charged over an incident on 26 September where he threatened to kill a man and his daughter. He was also charged with drug possession and with attemptiting to procure a murder (although this charge was susbequently dropped).

The court had heard previously that Rudd had fired a number of employees following poor performance of his solo album Head Job. Rudd will be sentenced on 26 June.

Rudd has also seen his former band have a huge success around the globe with Rock Or Bust. AC/DC's full 2015 UK and Ireland tour dates are below. For tickets and more information visit here.
