Foo Fighters have confirmed that a sequel series to Sonic Highways will happen - heavily suggesting that it would take place in the UK.
"There is going to be a new series of Sonic Highways," frontman Dave Grohl told NME. "It might or might not be international... It might only be in England. It might be in England and other places."
He went on to hint further that the series could take place in the UK: "The great thing about the idea, the concept of the project, is that it can be anywhere because every city has some sort of musical history, but I don’t know. Of all places in the world England and the UK just seems like it would be shooting fish in a barrel. There’s just so fucking much here."
The four-piece released their 8th studio album in November 2014 in unique fashion, with the album's 8 tracks being recorded in different cities throughout America which was documented and released as a simultaneous TV series. This pattern could be repeated for LP 9.
"By the time we were finished with 'Sonic Highways' I was just fucking exhausted. But it’s kind of a magical luxury of my life that I’m able to go around and interview people and learn about the history of all these awesome places so I wouldn’t just give it up that’s for sure."
