More about: Young Fathers
Young Fathers might have won the Mercury Prize with their debut album, Dead, and received critical acclaim for its follow-up, White Men Are Black Men Too - but Gareth Gates (the voice of talent and musicianship) would like you all to know that the band "offend" him.
The band performed on the Other Stage on Saturday afternoon (27 June), showcasing tracks from their two albums, both of which innovatively blend elements of hip hop with krautrock and electro-pop. Gareth Gates didn't like it.
The Pop Idol runner-up (and if that doesn't give him license to pass judgement, then what does?) took to Twitter to say, "Watching Glastonbury... Bands like 'Young Fathers' offend me. Is this talent? Is this musicianship? No. It's shit."

Thankfully, the good people of Twitter were on hand to bring Gates' unwarranted, unqualified opinions down a peg or two.
@Gareth_Gates Not enough X factor? Maybe they should've taken the manufactured route to anonymity...
