Perhaps the most unexpected news story of the day - Ryan Adams has revealed plans to cover Taylor Swift's 1989 album in full.
The singer took to Twitter to announce the project, as well as posting a taste of his 'Welcome to New York' cover on Instagram to prove that work is well underway. Swift quickly responded by claiming she would "pass out" and that she would not able to "sleep tonight or ever again and I'm going to celebrate today every year as a holiday".
1989, released last October, has sold over 5 million copies and included hits such as 'Style', 'Shake It Off', 'Bad Blood' and 'Blank Space'.
Adams, meanwhile, recently unveiled his rendition of Foo Fighter's 'Times Like These' in Sydney last month.
