Slipknot's Corey Taylor has revealed plans for the band to record a double concept album with an accompanying film after they've taken a few years off.
A few months back, the band revealed that they'll be taking an extended break after finishing their .5: The Gray Chapter cycle. Taylor told Rocksverige, "We’re gonna finish touring and then we’re gonna take a couple of years off again to, kind of, let everything chill. I’m gonna go do my thing, [and] everybody else’s gonna go, kind of, do their thing."
Now Taylor has revealed that the band plan to return from this hiatus with even more amibitous plans than normal - plans that include a double concept album and a movie.
Speaking to Q103 Albany, Taylor said, "Clown and I and Jim have been talking about what would be next. The idea we had was to come up with the concept, then provide the soundtrack for it. But I told them the other day, 'Let’s take it even further. Let’s make our Purple Rain, let’s make our The Wall. With a movie – not just the album, but do a movie.' They were pretty into it."
