One Direction are rumoured to be splitting next year after holding secret talks in London.
According to The Sun, the boyband are set to undertake an extended hiatus, starting in March next year, to focus on individual projects. The decision is mutual and would have happened whether Zayn Malik had departed the band or not earlier this year.
A source told The Sun: "The guys have been together for five years, which is an incredible run for any boyband. They fully deserve to have at least a year to work on their own projects. There is absolutely no bad blood between them and they are all 100 per cent behind the decision." The source, however, insisted that this was "definitely not a split".
If true, One Direction's last concert appears likely to be at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield on 31 October, as the band have reportedly agreed not to tour in support of their fifth album, set for release at Christmas.
Last week, Liam Payne responded to accusations of making heteronormative comments.
