Erykah Badu has finally released her hotly anticipated mixtape, But You Caint Use My Phone - and is streaming it exclusively on Apple Music. It's finally arrived after the singer-songwriter teased fans with her very own ‘Hotling Bling’ remix which features on the project.
But You Caint Use My Phone is Erykah's first first full-length release since 2010’s New Amerykah Part Two (Return of the Ankh).
One of the highlight tracks, 'Hello' (Back off, Adele) features a stunning collaboration between Badu and Outkast's Andre 3000 that focuses on the first world woes of the twenty-first century relationship. The pair were romantically involved between 1995 and 1999 and their son Seven Sirius Benjamin was born in 1997.
But You Cain't Use My Phone is an extensive and crowd pleasing project, with flutters of soul, funk, jazz and electronic music that guide the listener through Erykah's new world. Her melodies are on point as always and the lush and soothing production throughout will ease you steadily into the weekend. If the rain comes down in the next couple of days, lock yourself indoors, crank this up and chill the Flip out.

Andre 3000 rightfully landed in a pretty good spot on Gigwise's Top 50 Greatest Rappers Of All Time feature earlier this year. He also revealed late last year that he was working on a solo album, but was struggling to find any inspiration.
