Have you ever wondered whether your cat is bored listening to your music? Indignant at Michael Jackson, depressed by Adele's 'Hello', and left bushy tailed by Justin Bieber? Today's hard-hitting science news is - they'd probably rather listen to David Teie's compositions, which are created specifically for cats.
David Teie is a cellist, conductor and composer who has worked with Metallica and the National Symphony Orchestra. His passion, though, involves developing species-specific music.
His theory is that musical preferences "are established by the sounds heard during the early stages of brain development. For humans, that includes our mother's heartbeat. Cats, however, develop a sense of music outside the womb."
So Teie's cat music is "based on sounds that includes bird chirps, their mother's purr and feeding noises. [It] elicited strong, positive reactions from 77% of cats that heard it.." Test it on your cat, and see if they claw your face off.
