They might not have a 2016 UK tour in the pipeline just yet (though they will be playing a Hogmanay show on NYE), but here's some good news for Biffy Clyro fans. The band have teased details of their new album - the follow-up to 2013's Opposites. Apparently, it's "Deafheaven meets Tears for Fears meets Death Grips."
The band's seventh album, which is currently untitled, is due for release next year. Speaking to DIY, lead singer Simon Neil said, "My main aim of this record is that I want to make a record that sounds like Deafheaven meets Tears for Fears meets Death Grips."
He added, "I don’t know if we’ll get anywhere near it, but that’s the three touchstones of songwriting and sonic architecture that I want us to try and go for."

Neil concluded, "I truly believe that we’re doing something on this record that we haven’t ever tried to do before. We’re really trying to fuck with the sound of what we do, and we’re not trying to do it as a live band in a room."
Biffy Clyro will play alongside Honeyblood and Idlewild at Edinburgh's West Princes Street Gardens on New Year's Eve. Get tickets and more information here.
