At her first UK gig since the death of David Bowie, Aurora performed her stunning 'Life On Mars' cover in his honour at London's Union Chapel last night. Watch the performance below.
The Norwegian singer's beautiful set included 'Runaway', 'Running With The Wolves' and new single 'Conqueror', as well as a guest appearance from her new pet balloon Manchesto (it's a long and strange story, which ended, sadly, with her having to leave him at the airport).
Her fidgety gesticulations - at times grand and theatrical, at others reminiscent of a child having a tantrum - only further endeared her to the crowd, who gave two standing ovations at the end of the set, and loudly demanded an encore.
After performing 'Through The Eyes Of A Child', a poignant lullaby of nostalgia for a childhood only recently left behind, Aurora said, "We have to do this song. We just have to. It's a good way to... remember", before launching into a moving cover of Bowie's 'Life On Mars'.
This isn't the first time Aurora's performed this cover, but it's the first time she's done it in the UK since the death of David Bowie last month.
"You always make me cry," she beamed to the crowd as they erupted in enthusiasm. "It's very strange to be the receiver of applauding people. The receiver of applaud. Applause. It's a strange language."
Whatever the word is, Aurora better get used to it.
Aurora's debut album, All My Demons Greeting Me As A Friend, is out on 11 March. See her forthcoming UK tour dates below. Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday (5 February). Get tickets and more information here.
