Nominees Wolf Alice have hit out at the BRIT Awards for 'criminally overlooking' grime music at this year's ceremony.
Tonight sees the band go head to head with Catfish and The Bottlemen, James Bay, Jess Glynne and Years & Years in the British Breakthrough category, but now they've joined the likes of Lily Allen and Stormzy in slamming the BRITs lack of diversity and for ignoring grime in their nominations.
Taking to Twitter, the band protested: "Grime music has been criminally overlooked this year at the Brits," the short statement begins. "It has dominated the charts, the media and the word on everyone's lips. No doubt they don't need a nomination nor any award to keep running the UK music scene and eventualy the world, but would have been sick to walk down the red carpet with the likes of BBK or Stormzy and feel how exciting 2016 in the UK is gonna be!"

This comes after Stormzy said that it was a 'shame' for Grime to not be recognised, before Lily Allen took offence, adding that the lack of grime nominees showed that the BRITs 'do not care about music'.
