Stormzy freestyled over Charli XCX’s new single, 'Vroom Vroom', on Beats 1 last Friday. Listen to it below.
The grime rapper chatted with Julie Adenuga about how she scored him his own Beats 1 show, AKA #MERKY, which began in November 2015.
The pair discussed how Stormzy will be sharing his #MERKY spot with Charli XCX, who will be presenting her own show, The Candy Shop, every other Friday.
Talking about Charli XCX, Stormzy said, “I feel like i know her because she's bubbly, she's a bit mad." The rapper then suggested that it would be a great idea to merge their talents, which prompted Adenuga to play the back beat from ‘Vroom Vroom’ for Stormzy to freestlye over.

Recently, Stormzy criticised the Brit Awards for its lack of grime nominations, telling BBC Radio 1 that "it was such a great year for grime and underground music... I thought maybe this year it might get celebrated."
In other news, an elderly busker was seen rapping Stormzy’s ‘Shut Up’ at the start of the year.
