Stephen Ambrose, the inventor of in-ear monitors, says his newly invented technology could help AC/DC’s Brian Johnson return to the stage.

Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose is currently preparing to step into Johnson’s shoes after Johnson was urged to 'stop touring immediately' or risk losing his hearing, midway through the band’s current Rock Or Bust tour

Asius Technologies founder Stephen Ambrose invented in-ear monitors, which are used by professional singers around the world, but which he now says “can cause permanent hearing loss” because of the levels at which the music is being pumped directly into the ear.

Since stopping manufacturing his invention in the ‘90s, Ambrose has been working on in-ear technology which is much safer for the ears. He told Blabbermouth that he hopes his new technology - which “provides a much safer and higher fidelity listening experience” - will help Johnson “return to the stage.”

AC/DC's UK dates will go ahead with Axl Rose as lead singer. See the full dates below. Get tickets and more information here.
