After the huge success of its original series Stranger Things - whose cast included 90s hero Winona Ryder as well as many talented unknowns - Netflix has promised that the show’s soundtrack will be released “soon.” Now we just need confirmation of season 2.
The supernatural drama, which is set in ‘80s rural America and focusses on the strange mystery around a missing boy, not only has a killer list of ‘80s songs played throughout - most crucially, The Clash’s ‘Should I Stay Or Should I Go’ - but it also has an intense, creepy original score.
The synthy score was composed by Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein, who are both members of the band S U R V I V E. While there’s a playlist streaming on Spotify of all the older songs used in the show, the original soundtrack is nowhere to be seen. Thankfully, Netflix have taken fans’ demands into account.

They’ve not given any details, so we don’t know if it’ll include just the score, or all the music used in the show. Whatever it is, if they don’t release it on vinyl they’re missing a trick.
While you wait, here’s an unofficial extended version of Stranger Themes’ theme song.
