This year is definitely one that belongs to rapper Kano. From an awe-inspiring Fire in the Booth and sold out shows across the country to an incredible new album in Made in the Manor - that has now been nominated for this year's Mercury Music Prize - the iconic UK artist seems to be having a bigger year than the one he had when he first burst onto the scene with his smash 'P's & Q's' back in 2004.
Adding to the run of good fortune and quality output, Kano yesterday stopped by Radio 1's Live Lounge to put his own spin on a certified Hip Hop classic. Taking on Nas' 'If I Ruled the World', a song that featured Lauryn Hill and appeared on Nas' seminal sophomore album, It Was Written, Kano, his band, and three vocalists put together a thought provoking version of the song that you can watch below.
Aside from the Nas cover, Kano also performed two of his own songs, 'A Roadman's Hymn' - which you can watch below - and 'T-Shirt Weather in the Manor'.
