Guess who’s back? Back again? Shady’s back – tell a friend. That’s right – Eminem has been confirmed as the third headliner for this year’s Reading and Leeds Festival.

He’ll join previously announced headliners Kasabian and Muse and the annual celebration of ‘A’ level and GCSE results at the festival’s two sites across the final bank holiday of the summer on August 25-27. Buy Reading tickets here and Leeds tickets.

Festival organiser Melvin Benn is beside himself with barely contained excitement. He enthuses: ““Eminem returning to Reading and Leeds is beyond exciting. His 2013 headline performance was incredible and I can’t wait to have him back. In addition to our third and final headliner (joining Kasabian and Muse) we’ve announced over 70 additional acts to this year’s line up - it’s looking stronger than ever.”

He’s not wrong. About the additions to the line up, that is. This year’s event will see an increase in pop performers with Charli XCX, Becky Hill and Halsey all set to make appearances. Likewise, Blossoms have also been confirmed to play.

Also confirmed for the Reading and Leeds festival are gurning siblings Haim. Apparently, their second album is almost ready to be released – a mere four years after their debut. So why the delay? Writers block? No material? Perish the thought! Haim are nothing less than perfectionists. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly last year, they said: “We write everything, we play everything, and we help produce everything. These things take time, and we refuse to put out anything we’re not 100 percent in love with.” So now you know.

But back to Marshall Mathers. This will mark his third headliner at the long-running festival. He first topped the bill in 2001 with fellow headliners Manic Street Preachers and Travis (remember them?). His last album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2, was released in 2013.
