Two nights in one of London's finest venues

Eddie Vedder, frontman of Pearl Jam, is set to embark on a 11-date tour around Europe this summer and thankfully he's chosen to drop by the UK.

The 'Even Flow' singer has a fantastic reputation for his solo stuff ever since his sublime compositions for the film Into The Wild - and stripping back any pearl Jam songs and revealing his vocals at their most exposed is always a sonic treat. Two nights at Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith are certain to sell out as the arena rocker reigns in the size of his usual stages to accommodate a less heavy side of his music .

Vedder, who will be playing solo acoustic, will have support from Glen Hansard; an Irish singer and songwriter and one half of the folk rock duo The Swell Season.

The singer last did a solo acoustic tour around Europe in 2012 - those shows were his first ever shows of this kind and he also visited Hammersmith Apollo then. The Guardian report his fondness for the venues stems from being a teenage Who obsessive.

Elsewhere, Vedder made headlines as an altruist Christmas time. After reading a letter from a struggling mother of six threatened with eviction from her home and unable to buy Christmas gifts for her family, he came forward and generously donated $10,000 to help. Not just a nice voice.
