Yet another chance to see the band this summer

Yesterday we reported that The Maccabees added one more, final, final farewell show to their string of dates this month. Now, it appears that the band have shoe-horned in a sneaky appearance at Glastonbury to say goodbye to the festival forever.

The South London five-piece announced yesterday that they'll play a special gig on June 16 at London's Omeara, in aid of MS Society. It appeared to be the very last chance for fans to see the guys live on stage before they go their seperate ways.

Now, with a bit of detective work it seems like the band could snap up one of the TBA slots on the Glastonbury line-up this year.

On EE's website, where they're running a competition to win Glastonbury tickets, they give some information on artists included on the bill. After giving a run down of previously announced acts, the site reads: "Other highlights include Katy Perry roaring into the festival for her Glastonbury debut, grime star Stormzy and indie favourites The Maccabees, who will be playing one of their final farewell shows before they disband.”

It appears they know something we don't.

We took a look at The Maccabees June tour dates, and while they are busy with gigs on the Friday and Saturday of Glastonbury, they have the Sunday free and are available to slot into that Sunday evening John Peel tent slot.

It would be a special moment to see the band grace Worthy Farm just one last time, right?
