More about:

JAWS have released their new cut 'Anyway, Now's Not The Time'. On this new song, their clean, euphoric sonic signature becomes shrouded in a thin veil of grungy shoegaze.

A characteristically dreamy synth intro is paired beautifully with trademark flourishes of jangly guitars, before the new sound emerges in a heavier landscape. This new material is catnip for those ex-indie kids who are left wanting more after the early 2010s Brummie bubble went a little flat; JAWS have really stretched their arms out wide, embracing different avenues both sonically and in terms of potential audience.

The sound on ‘Anyway, Now’s Not The Time’ mirrors their recent departure from pure dream pop as seen on latest release The Ceiling. Of that album, we said: “If JAWS were dream pop before, I am delighted to tell you that now they're fully delirious.” Read our full album review here. Hear the new song on Gigwise now:

The track was supposed to feature on their acclaimed third album, but it “didn’t feel right at that moment” according to frontman and guitarist Connor Schofield. “In the time since we realised that it should see the light of day as it’s still one of our favourites from when we were putting the record together.”
