It’s a busy day for Black Rebel Motorcycle Club as they announce the release of their new album, share a new track in the form of ‘Little Thing Gone Wild’ which you can listen to below, and reveal the dates of their autumn UK tour.

Wrong Creatures will the six-legged groove machine’s eighth studio album and will arrive almost five years since the release of 2013’s Specter At The Feast on January 12. The hiatus was partly precipitated by drummer Leah Shapiro who needed life saving surgery for Chairi Malformation, a rare disorder that restricts the flow of spinal fluid between the brain and spine.

Speaking of the circumstances leading up the new album, vocalist/bassist Robert Levon Been said: “It’s a crazy making machine, it can chew you up good, I mean we literally toured ‘til the wheels came off and Leah’s brain literally started leaking out of her head. I know I’ve battled on and off with mental depression, and [vocalist/guitarist] Peter Hayes’ head never came with any proper instructions.”

Peter Hayes added: “I find myself writing about death a lot. I find myself having a discussion with death, which sounds dark. For me, it's dark humour.”

As for the new track, it’s one that opens its charms with repeated listens. A bass-heavy monster, it moves away from their usual comfort zone whilst still employing those dirty six-string elements that made them such an attractive prospect in the first place.

And then there’s the not-so-small matter of their nine-date UK tour that takes in London, Glasgow and Manchester among others. Black Rebel Motorcycle Club play:
