Pip Blom continues her ascent in the indie world with new single 'Babies Are A Lie' released on label Nice Swan Records.
The release follows her other best song, 'I Think I'm In Love', which is a short, sharp burst of lo-fi rock with honeyed melodies and sugary pop hooks with production intentionally about capturing the sound of a tight band playing live.
This latest one is more laid back, better produced, with backing vocals giving it a more dynamic feel. Her hazy melodicism reminiscent of early Warpaint, or a heavier Julia Stone, juxtaposes with the quite sobering familial themes.
The singer's penchant for stand out chorus', coupled with a taste for production Sparklehorse would have likely given his seal of approval to, is likey to see Pip Blom blossom, and become one of the most exciting acts from Holland since Heavenly Records' Amber Arcades. The single is out 15 September.
