Reformed harcore behemoths At The Drive-In have announced details of their first UK headline tour since the release of their comeback album, in • ter a • li •a, in May of this year. The band will play five dates in the spring and will appear in London, Newcastle, Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow.

Support for all dates will come from Death From Above and Mexican garage rockers Le Butcherettes. Looks like we’re going to in for a truly ear-pummelling tour then.

Given that it’s been 17 – count ‘em! – years since the release of their last album, 2000’s Relationship Of Command – it’s a pretty safe bet that these are going to go like the proverbial hotcakes when they go on sale this Friday (September 22) at 9am.

At The Drive In play:

MARCH

09 – London, O2 Academy, Brixton
10 – Newcastle, O2 Academy
12 – Birmingham, O2 Academy
13 – Manchester, O2 Apollo
15 – Glasgow, O2 Academy

Meanwhile, At The Drive In have also released a limited run of skateboard decks with Pocket Pistols Skateboards with artwork by AyeJay this week. The Chuco Town Airlines are limited run of 100 decks (dimensions 10” x 29.75”) and are now available here.

Speaking of the skateboards, frontman Cedric Biller-Zavala said: "My first NATAS deck was a purple dipped one with the talon holding the panther. I wrote "Purple Violence" in silver frayed letters on the top of the grip.

“When you're 12 or 13 and you see a game changing part like his in Streets of Fire, a whole new way of looking at the world opens up to you. NATAS came to El Paso and I like most kids just followed him around screaming at him to do tricks. That was monumental for me. He was cool about it. To see him in person was everything.

“I knew I wasn't great at skating but his parts unlocked something in me that gave me courage to embrace what I was good at. I carry a piece of his influence in everything I do when I'm on stage trying to fly around. This is a tribute to an artist who gave me sight unclouded and courage unbound.

Thanks for pushing a lot of us into the deep end NATAS... sink or swim"
