November showcases will also take place in London

Festival season is barely over and the organisers of Brighton’s The Great Escape festival have already announced the first 50 artists for 2018’s bash. As per usual, the gigs will take place in multiple venues across the south coast town and this year the first set of acts named will also play the 'First Fifty' showcases that are scheduled to take place in London in November.

The first acts announced for The Great Escape 2018 are:

The London showcase gigs will be held on November 21, 22 and 23 and participating venues include Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen, Kamio, The Old Blue Last, The Courtyard Theatre and Zigfrid Von Underbelly.

The Great Escape’s Rory Bett said: “It feels great to be announcing fifty amazing artists to play TGE18 and to launch the show with its very own festival FIRST FIFTY yet again.

“This is a really exciting time for new music and we’re fortunate to be able to showcase some of the greatest new talent from around the world. Since TGE started 13 years ago, we have always maintained that the foremost objective of the festival is to produce an internationally-reaching programme that is genuinely representative of the full range of emerging talent in music.

“This is such a really good start and look out for lots more to come from across all music genres.”

The Great Escape 2018 takes place May 17 - 19.
