View Frontman Fined £1,000 For Cocaine Possession

Kyle Falconer, frontman with The View, has been fined £1,000 for cocaine possession in court today.

The 19-year-old pleaded guilty to possession of the Class A drug at Dundee Sheriff Court, after he was arrested outside the city’s student union where the band had been playing last August.

The charge will now seriously jeopardize The View’s chances of cracking the American market, as it will be extremely difficult for him to gain entry to the country.

He admitted to police that he was in possession of cocaine with a street value of around £150.

His defence agent Billy Boyle was asking for an absolute discharge claiming that the teenager had not consumed any of the drug and that a criminal record would prevent the band from cracking America.

Boyle said that he was given the drug by music industry insiders before the band’s performance that evening.

Their debut album ‘Hats Off To The Buskers’ has been delayed in the US, plus the band have had to turn down a lucrative advertising deal with a jeans company.
