Sounding not dissimilar to Beck, Simple Kid or Weezer in it’s stilted white-boy-rap-kinda-way and known to the band as their “Eminem song”, ‘Always Together’ is a bizarre mix of laddish London vocal, funky (double) bass, and dub reggae twang, all with glorious indie boy overtones. It gradually builds into a funky jaunt that you can easily imagine supping cold bevvy’s to down a Camden local on a sunny Sunday. The bass gets catchier and they even throw in a guitar solo for the listener’s delectation. B-Side ‘What’s Wrong With Lucy’ feels incredibly weak in comparison, it’s a pared-down country-lullaby of a track which, while it hints the apparent versatility of this band, really fails to get going and passes two minutes with barely a bother.
