What the hell could they be cooking up together?

More about:

It’s quite possibly the unlikeliest collaboration in recent memory, but purveyors of industrial hip-hop Death Grips have revealed that they’re working on new album by none other than Shrek director Andrew Adamson.

Yep, you read that right. Andrew Adamson – the director of Shrek. Normally, any such news would raise a titter or a dismissive scoff at best but no, they really are working with Andrew Adamson.

The director of Shrek.

We know this to be the case because Death Grips have posted photographic evidence of Andrew Adamson – the director of Shrek – in the studio and in front of mic. See for yourself:

The news has been warmly greeted online. Fan Matthew Spaulding could barely contain his excitement as he enthused: “This shit right here made my cock go nuclear.” Blimey!

Still, it shouldn’t come as that much of a surprise, given Death Grips’ previous film links. Their 2015 video for ‘Bottomless Pit’ featured 70s film star Karen Black, best known for her roles in classics Easy Rider and Five Easy Pieces.

Whatever the final product will be, it’s surely going to grab your attention. Indeed, their performance at last year’s Field Day left the crowd reeling.

Gigwise was similarly stunned.

“If you were lucky enough to be in the heart of the crowd for Death Grips you will have witnessed East London being uncharacteristically unhinged - there was no room for anyone to hang on to their tote bag here as numerous moshpits broke out in reaction to the industrial hip-hop,” we wrote.

“The trio, fronted by the frighteningly volatile energy of MC Ride, were determined to show people how it was done. It's not so much a single track that stood out but the pulse by which the synth, electronic drums, fierce drumming and MC's movement and lyrics that impressed. There was no pause for breath until they went out with a bang keeping it highly stylised and meticulously synthesized to every finest detail.

“They could easily have headlined.”

Shit could get intense here. Stay tuned.
