A Perfect Circle have shared 'So Long And Thanks For All The Fish', the fourth single from their long-awaited new album Eat The Elephant, which is out on April 20 via BMG.

The track’s title references Douglas Adams’ sci-fi series The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy, and lyrically pays tribute to Carrie Fisher, Gene Wilder, David Bowie and Muhammad Ali, all of whom passed away in 2016: "Now Willy Wonka, Major Tom / Ali and Leia have moved on."

“We all cope with the absurd in our own manner,” said vocalist Maynard James Keenan, also of Tool and Puscifer. “The Italian side of me produces and shares wine with friends in order to feel grounded and connected in the midst of all the madness. But once the wine is gone, the drunk and sarcastic Irish side of me goes straight for the unreasonable jugular. #comedyfirstandalways”

The track comes after the band made their Coachella debut last night, where they played the new track as well as the other singles from the forthcoming record, TalkTalk and the title track Eat The Elephant. The band were formed by Keenan alongside guitarist Billy Howerdel in 1999 but disbanded shortly after the release of covers album Emotive in 2004. Eat The Elephant will be their first album in 14 years and also features member Smashing Pumpkins’ James Iha, Puscifer’s Jeff Friedl and Eagles of Death Metal’s Matt McJunkins.

The band are on tour throughout the summer, with Iha replaced on tour by Greg Edwards of Failure and Autolux. They play:
