More about:

Miles Kane has just released the latest single off his Coup De Grace LP, and it’s a no-nonsense glam-flavoured slab of agreeable summer pastiche.

Ready? Have some of this…

See what I mean? Insouciant Marc Bolan swagger with a twist of Small Faces going into the chorus. Big swinging dick tremolo-laden surf guitar. Profoundly unironic handclaps.

Can’t go far wrong.

The track will appear on the Kane’s forthcoming solo LP ‘Coup De Grace’, which will be available in all good record shops on August 10. The release marks his third solo effort, following predecessor ‘Don’t Forget Who You Are’ from 2013.

In case you’re itching to learn all about the lyical themes this time around, Mile Kane told NME he’s been mining the commercially rich seam of relationship woes so deftly exploited by a certain Tottenham-born ballad machine:

“It’s been 5 years in the making, a lot of emotion and excitement has gone into making this album!” he added. “Most of [the album] is about a break-up. I’m giving it the Adele one.”

So why’s it called Coup De Grace?

"I’m a massive fan of wrestling [so the name, far from being anything poncy and french or aught like that is my] favourite wrestler’s finishing manoeuvre.”

So now you know.

Here’s a tracklist:

Too Little Too Late
Cry On My Guitar
Loaded
Cold Light of the Day
Killing the Joke
Coup De Grace Silverscreen
