Upcoming Welsh wonders Adwaith have shared a remix of their last single, ‘Gartref’ – and it’s been given a whole new sheen by Manic Street Preachers’ frontman James Dean Bradfield.

The original single had been lifted from the Carmarthen-based band’s debut album, Melyn, which is released on 12 October by Libertino Record on digital and limited edition vinyl formats.

The band has been making some considerable waves of late. Having played at a number of festivals over the summer including Green Man, The Future Is Female and SWN, Adwaith are soon hitting the road as support to Gwenno. They’ve also enjoyed the patronage of Radio 1 DJ Huw Stephens and now have James Dean Bradfield on board.

‘Gatref’ has been remixed and produced by Bradfield and Loz Williams with some extra work by Dave Eringa. Bradfield’s remix adds some extra heft to the original single’s more pastroral moorings, that in turn gives the song a greater ethereal quality. And right gorgeous it is, too. Have a listen to it here:
