Hungary’s celebrated Sziget Festival has given its a line-up a considerable boost with the announcement that Florence + The Machine, Foo Fighters, The 1975, Twenty One Pilots and Martin Garrix are to headline it 2019 edition.

They’ll be joining previously-announced headliner Ed Sheeran at the annual event that takes place 07 – 13 August at Óbudai-sziget, Budapest in Hungary.

The Sziget festival has also confirmed the addition of – very deep breath - Richard Ashcroft, Catfish & The Bottlemen, Chvrches, Jungle, Kodaline, IDLES, Superorganism, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, Pale Waves, Maribou State, Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls, Of Mice & Men, Boy Pablo, Parcels, Yungblud, Alma, Tamino, Gang Of Youths and The Blaze to the line-up.

But it’s not all about the headliners. The long-running Sziget festival is also promising a programme of world music, theatre, cabaret, installations, performances and art. Blimey! We’ll have a bit of that!

Growing exponentially in reputation and size since its inaugural event in 1993, the seven-day event – yes, that’s seven whole days of festival revelry to be had – is hosting 50 stages and bringing together some 450,000 people. One, three, five and seven day tickets for Sziget are now on sale. Check here for tickets

But you can certainly expect some top action from the headliners. Florence + The Machine released their fourth album, High As Hope, earlier this year. She’s got form as a festival headliner so she’ll be no slouch. Elsewhere, Foo Fighters seem to have been on an a permanent tour for the last five years and you’ll almost be guaranteed an epic set of hits, cover versions and audience participation.

Twenty One Pilots will be bringing their rock-rap hybrid, while The 1975 will be maintaining their position in the pop firmament. DJ Martin Garrix will be doing his do and Ed Sheeran will continue to rule the world.
