The Libertines Reunite In Honour Of The Beatles
The Libertines front men Carl Barat and Pete Doherty have reunited in London today to re-record the classic Beatles track, ‘A Day In The Life.’
Both Doherty and Barat have been in a London recording studio this afternoon (June 15th) to work on the song for the BBC’s, ‘Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,’ re-recording project.
As previously reported the project marks the fortieth anniversary of the classic album and also features contributions from Oasis, Kaiser Chiefs and Razorlight.
Today marks the first time that the Libertines pair have recorded together since their inharmonious split in 2004.
You can hear their effort on BBC Radio 2 tomorrow evening (June 16th), as well as Oasis’ exclusive re-recording of ‘Within You Without You.’
- Amazing!!! Can’t wait to hear it :-)
- If they can do this and pull it off, hats off to them. However if they actually do, I’ll eat my hat.
- Should be good, cant wait to hear Oasis tho!
- Get musicians, not drug addicts, to record Beatles music.
- yes becuase as i recall none of the four Beatles were drug addicts oh wait they all were they just didnt have the nuts to speak up secondly dont be jealous that people who create music better than you get to play those songs in studios and get paid to do it while you sit at home strumming along to every Beatles album singing to your rocky Racoon
