The unlikely collaboration hits the jackpot

They say that opposites attract, and look no further for a case in point than this new collaboration between Liverpool duo CamelPhat and Nottingham troubadour Jake Bugg.

On paper ‘Be Someone’ is not necessarily the pairing you think would work, however the euphoric house beats brought to the table by CamelPhat are juxtaposed by Bugg’s country inflected vocals and it makes for considered listening. Overall the track inhales with building synths and exhales with an exhilarating drop, while Jake’s delicate vocal runs through the three minutes. Listen to ‘Be Someone’ below:

The track premiered as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record In The World last night and marks another milestone in the duo’s mammoth summer that also includes appearances at Glastonbury and Reading & Leeds.
