At The Great Escape this year, Gigwise met a whole host of bands, and went to see even more play. Two of those bands were The Amazons and Mini Mansions. Different bands in many ways - and similar in some - both of these ‘rock’ bands share a label in Fiction records, and views on social media.

Reading’s rock band The Amazons released their new album Future Dust in May, and conducted a full room at their Coalition headline set at The Great Escape. Mini Mansions, who are a supergroup made up by Michael Shuman (bassist in Queens of the Stone Age), Tyler Parkford (touring keys for Arctic Monkeys) and Zach Dawes (bassist for The Last Shadow Puppets.) Their new album Guy Walks Into A Bar… comes out next Friday (26 July.)
