Burial and Ninja Tune artist The Bug have today released a two track record under the moniker Flame 2, the name they use for their relatively new collaborative project.
The release is the sequel to the 2018 experimental dub record Flame 1, which is made up of the enrapturing tracks ‘Fog’ and ‘Shrine’.
The Flame 2 tracks ‘Dive and Rain' - streaming below - make for an expectedly powerful listen. The dense, noisy soundscapes conjure a foreboding atmosphere. However haunting, there’s a groove to this thought-provoking music, too. ‘Rain’ feels the most rooted in dub and also is mixed in a stunning way to help the listener feel in the music; completely inhabiting their sonic architecture.
Could see this going down well at some obscure/underground dimly-lit clubs with the bass fully cranked.
You can stream it below but we suspect this would sound even more impressive on vinyl, and there's a link here should you be keen to add it to your collection.
You can buy a digital version on FLAC or mp3 here.
