More about: Glove
They’ve only been a band for about a year, but Glove have been steadily building a fanbase and forming an identity as a new light in the US guitar scene, all thanks to their infectious live gigs and minimal online content.
Bridging the gap between the bite of post-punk and the futuristic soundscape of electronic textures merged with disco rhythms, Glove are creating a distinctively thoughtful brand of synth pop. It’s dark and paranoid: heavy on the synths, big on boogie - and sounds like a robot having a nostalgic 80s groove. They’ve already nabbed support slots with the likes of Surfbort, The Growlers, Omni and The Nude Party - so the future is theirs for the taking.
Today we’re premiering the video for their track ‘Personality Change’ - press play here:
About the video, the band say: “‘Personality Change’ is a reminder to never settle; to practice empathy over apathy and to always do what feels right in your gut. The haze and colours are the representation of making decisions in daily life - we wanted to keep things simple by using the video to highlight the song rather than send a larger message".
After having teased us with the first two tracks from their debut EP Boom Nights, Glove are returning to the studio with Brad Shultz of Cage The Elephant who will produce and re-record the EP over the next couple of months. Keep your eyes peeled - it's set for release in early 2020.
